Subject: Merchants who are leaving

I'm not sure where to post this: I was wondering, since i have heard that some merchants are leaving Renderosity, Will they be taking there products with them, what i mean is, what about the stuff in people purchase histories? If they take their products, does that mean if we want to re-download stuff in our purchase histories, will it no longer be there? Hope that was clear... I just woke up. lol Thanks -SimderZ-

** If they take their products, does that mean if we want to re-download stuff in our purchase histories, will it no longer be there?** Exactly ... unfortunately.

Xena, point of order. I think Renderosity maintains a copy for previous purchasers even after a product is pull. I could be wrong. But I think that's how it goes.

Keeping backups for the registered purchasers in their databanks simply makes sense for Renderosity. After all, we customers can't foretell site politics a week in advance much less 2-3 years. I can understand if a merchant wants to remove a product completely because they may have an improved version, or may have their own store somewhere else, or whatever, but that just hurts their own customers. In these days when computers go belly-up at the drop of a transistor (and yes, this beastie is making whining noises), a customer shouldn't be penalized further by not being able to reclaim their data. Not so, I bought things from Thorne and Catharina that can't be replaced as well as some other items that were pulled. Would be wise to make sure you have everything burned. When I asked Thorne about the previous faeries I had bought he was very evasive, said he would get back to me and that is the last I heard. Marque

Ah, hang on a mo there, Marque. Thorne is one of the most reliable, honest and trustworthy folk I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with on the net. Go have another word with him .. he doesn't know the meaning of the word 'obfuscation'. Neither do I, actually. What does it mean? Hee hee.

Marque -- I've also had only the most positive experiences with Thorne. I'm sure something else interferred.
