the 'out of memory' message could also refer to physical memory. Check to see what else gets loaded on when you boot up..anything like Gator, or Bonzi buddy, or Ulead Calendar Creator, whatever..they take up memory, even though you don't see them (AOL is also a big hog, especially after you've tried to delete it..almost as bad as gum in high-tread sneakers)..
don't feel bad, my first hard drive was a 30-megabyte, and I thought I'd never fill it up..;)
