Subject: MAKING A CONFORMING SHOE

I have a shoe prop that I need to make conform to a figure, how would I make it conform after loading into pose window, I know about the conform to command for conforming clothing but this is not a conforming shoe its just a prop, I need to turn it into a conforming shoe.

You may not necessarily need to make it a conforming figure : if it has 3 parts or less (say toes and foot), you may have another option : Position it so that it fits the foot nicely and parent it to the character foot while making sure you tick the "inherit bend of parent" option. It should then inherit the JP parameters of the parent figure. (at least that's what I've read, I never tried this myself).

First you need to set up the groups with the group editer. The groups should be named "rFoot", "rToe", "lFoot", and "lToe". Do you have Poser 4 or Pro-Pack. What you need to look at is some tutorials on figure creation.

I've used different methods depending on the style of shoe. Can you post an image of the one you are using?

I think even the Poser 5 manual has some info about the Group Tool. After setting up the groups you could go in the set-up room and load some shoes for the ones your makeing. The shoes you load should work with what ever character you are conforming to. When you load a figure from the library while in set-up room it just loads the bones and joint settings.
