Subject: Scratch Disk & Memory allocation question - PS7

I use Photoshop 7, and I have 3 hard drives. One has the OS (and PS), another with the page file and another is the main scratch disk for PS. When I had only two drives I put my main scratch disk on the same drive as the page file. Still not sure if that was right, lol. Experiment and try doing the same actions with large files but with the scratch disk pointing to each drive, see if you can tell which may work better for you? I let Photoshop have 100% of my memory. Hey, I tried it and it works great so I leave it like that. BUT, I DO have Windows 2000 Pro, it manages my memory really well for me, I don't see big hangs when I switch from PS to another graphic application. I normally have 3-4 such programs running. Then again, most my PS files really aren't bigger than 100Mb. I have/use 512Mb sdram. Not sure about your style loading time, doesn't sound like there may be a way around it, other than organizing your styles into smaller catagories, lol, which is probably not the solution you were looking for.
