I'm not quite sure what you are alluding to but maybe a detailed explanation of how PoserToolbox works in in order. I too bought Mimic from Lipsinc a few years ago, I too bought Mimic 2 Pro, both fine products. We use a proprietary Artificial Neural Network/Hidden Markov Model (ANN/HMM) approach to audio analysis this for those that are not aware is the most technically advanced method of extracting Phoneme and Viseme information from audio recordings. As a veteran poser user some 4 to 5 years I have been continually frustrated by the way that both Mimic and Pro fail to animate all models (this may be changed by now but not in my version - also real the forums!) We introduced morph-mapping to allow the user to attach our morph animations to any part of a body, this guarantees anti-obsolescence. We have allow added multi audio mixing and merging, to enable you to create a sound composition similar to that used by multi media applications, we only lip-synch the file indicated as the Lips file. All other animations are generated automatically by our own algorithms, that are linked directly to the energy produced by the vocalisation (vocal chord vibration not sound volume) this enabled the production of rhythmical animations in time with the audio. The addition of TTS is purely following demand shown in the Poser Forums. Lipsinc approached a number of ANN/HMM technology provider in the early days to adopt the very same approach. Have you ever asked yourself the question that maybe, sometimes all things can be improved, and when you are the only player in the market (LipsInc/Daz) its only a matter of time until someone comes into your back yard. Technology, Algorithms and knowledge are not exclusive to a few, but everybody has the right to investigate, design and aspire. With your exclaimed suspicions, I find it strange that a user of a product, would take such a suspicious approach, unless you are more than a user? We are happy to explain our methodologies and motivations to anyone (subject to us not breeching our own secrets). Thank you for your comments, if it wasnt for improvements and advances wed all be still driving Model T fords theres progress eh!. PS. Maybe the gripe is some people will pay and have paid nearly $200 for a product that may now have at least a functional equivalent or indeed possibly better for a quarter of the price.
