"The Wizard of Oz" had one of the most innovative and famous uses of color of all time. The beginning and ending scenes, set in Kansas, were in black and white. But the Oz scenes were all in color. It's wonderful moment, when Dorothy (and the audience) realizes she's not in Kansas any more - just from the switch from black and white to color.
