Does anyone run Bryce 5 and Poser 5 on the Windows 2000 SP3 OS? And if so, do you have any problems with them? I'm thinking of changing my OS.... Thanks for reading TheBryster

No, but use XP pro with both without any problems. Service packs from microsoft are notoriously crap, and it seems much more reliable to pick and choose the updates you need. Have not had any trouble with XP up till now!

I run B5 And P5 on win 2000 pro, but I don't use the service pack 3, SP3 doesn't have a file I need to run Electric Image Universe, so I use SP2. Poser 5 will give some problems sometimes, but I believe it's related to my graphics card.

I only have Bryce 5 and Win2000 Pro SP4.....no problems

I have used Poser 4, Bryce 5, Terragen, Photoshop 7 on Win2k sp 2 without any problems. This has been on both dual and single processor motherboards. CPUs are Intel and boards are Intel and ASUS. Graphics cards have been Matrox g400 max and PNY Nvidia boards. BabaLouie

Service Pack 3 has some known issues that weren't resolved until SP4 came out. If I were you I would skip SP3 and apply SP4 outright.

Many thanks for all your input! Since my upgrade to a 2.2gig celeron, 512mb-ram and 64mb graphics card I've had system seizures almost everyday. My son suggested I change os to win 2000 and wanted to check if Bryce & Poser would run ok. I could be onto a winner here... Again, many thanks! The Bryster

I have/use; Bryce 4, Bryce 5, Poser 4 w/PPP, Photoshop 7, Terragen 0.9.08, Vue 4, Amorphium 1.0 & 3.0, & a boatload of freebie apps. Windows 2000 Pro SP 4, I constantly use the auto update at Microsoft.com to keep everything current in my OS. 1.5Ghz AMD Athlon XP, 512Mb SDRam, 64Mb Nvidia GeForce 4 MMX. No problems. Can't remember every really having any big problems, especially in dealing with my graphical apps. p.s.- I don't care for the newest Outlook Express, which I use for my Renderosity e-mail (just kinda slow in recieving), and I hate the new Win Media Player (far too unwieldy, and FAR too slow) AgentSmith

I ran both on win2k sp2, sp3 and now sp4. Win2k has been bullet proof for me since sp2 came out. SP3 worked fine for everything except printing. I had a green cast on large format printing and ran through all kinds of issues and head to wall beating. SP4 fixed all my Epson 1520 color issues. I won't change win2k. Its the most stable for Poser 5 and Bryce 5. Though I have heard win xp pro is more stable, quite frankly, I have no problems with Poser 5 other than their stupid screen resolution issues which they refuse to fix that occurred in SR3. I run Poser 5 with SR2.1 Ok, hope that helps.

Well if AS & Eric say it's ok that's the way it's gonna be.... Thanks for all the help, Guys!
