Hi jabbiati I'm presuming you're a newbie like me, with that in mind I will pass on my own personal experience for what it's worth though there are far more experienced people here than I. Firstly you'll find Poser 5 amazingly clever and downright frustrating in equal measures. Never have I come accross something with so much potential and yet so full of holes, That aside it's the only thing out there to do the job. 3d modelling! hmm. I see you've got a few freebie discs, the one that stands out there that is also one I've tried is Cinema 4d It's a fantastic modeller but has a very steep learning curve! You can certainly model Poser stuff in it but it's a bit of a sod getting Poser figures in complete. There's a plugin you can get to help that on Dave Greenbriers site wich works really efficiently but only in C4D version 8. C4D does render Poser figures to a very high level, there was a thread here a few weeks back that had some astonishing photo's showing this. I've tried as a beginer to use all sort's of 3D software at a local ad agency I sometimes do work for. everything from Mayer to 3DS Max to Lightwave but they're all way to time consuming to learn if you work for a living as well. After trying a freebie disc from Digit magazine recently I have just bought Carrara 2 I find that you can get such good result's so quickly that I have now ordered version 3. In just a week I can model simple but recognisable object's. Poser 5s Firefly render engine is very good, if a little slow! Hope these humble thought's help. Good luck! Roy UK
