Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 27 7:24 am)
Not to my knowledge :o( And it IS very annoying. I sometimes hit it in a futile attempt to access the AUX camera :o((( Since Ctrl-M is Main Camera, my mind keeps expecting the AUX camera to be at Crtl-A. Never thought of it being close to Crtl-S too, which makes it even more "dangerous", I just never save that way :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Heh, glad it's useful. These are the little things that make poser more usable. Here's one Nance told me. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I tried it. You know how all vertices in poser show up outlined in that annoying red color? Well, you can switch it off. Go to Runtime/prefs and open the poser.ini. The 6th line down is HILITE_BODY_PART 1 change it to HILITE_BODY_PART 0 and save it. Reopen Poser, and you'll never see those horrible red outlines again. Luxury! I have a spare poser.ini called 'myposer.ini' as a back-up. You can change a few things in it, like the size of the Hierarchy box. mac
I find it's more efficient (for me) to click the face to go to the face camera, rather than ctrl= or whatever. I don't know, seems to me it's no shortcut if you have to take your hand off the mouse to use two hands to hit the keys. Then find the mouse again. CTRL-S, Ctrl-D, z,x,c and v use only one hand so I use them constantly. Ctrl-U for Materials takes TWO hands so I use my mouse and get there from the menu. There is a method to my madness. My hand rarely leaves the mouse except to type in a name in a save dialog.
Believe me, CTRL+Z was the first thing I tried because it generally undoes many things. But it hasn't worked any time I've tried it. However, I just tried it now on a very simple composition and it does work. So maybe once the document gets beyond a certain complexity, the CTRL+A function can't be undone.
'Ctrl-U for Materials takes TWO hands' Not for me. I use the kb whenever possible. I have 2 finger 'configurations' for my left hand, and use the mouse with the right. For all the keys on the left of the kb, I use little finger (left ctrl) + index finger (key), and for the right-hand side, thumb (right ctrl) and little finger (key). It sounds complicated reading it, but it's easy to do. I launch all apps through the kb too. Clean desktop - no icons. mac

I keep hitting CTRL+A instead of CTRL+S, and every object in my pic returns to its default position and location. And I can't undo it!! And I haven't saved because I was just about to! Is there some way to turn this horrible feature off?
