I'm not sure that the previous article was a major factor in the cover decision. Frankly, I don't know why the decision was made and don't care anymore, LOL. But to remove the question from existence, here's a proposal to those in charge: Stop having cover contests. Instead, surf the galleries for images appropriate to seasonal themes or whatever you have in mind. Narrow it down to the few best candidates, contact the artists for permission, and choose the one you like best - there's your cover. If you can't find any images to your liking, contact an artist whose work you like and commission (for free, of course) them to create a cover piece for you to your specifications. This could give some artists an important experience with tailoring work to a clients specifications, experience a budding commercial artist could use. This is closer to the way the big boys in publishing get their cover art/photographs, and I don't think many people would think of it as unfair-in a contest, there's always gonna be winners and losers. And some hard feelings. Tjohn
