Subject: I need an opinion IF I should make this product ...

Schlabber ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 10:16 AM · edited Fri, 26 July 2024 at 8:49 AM

Well - as those texture-CD's never got sold so much ... http://www.schlabber.org/textures/textures1/textures1.htm http://www.schlabber.org/textures/textures2/textures2.htm I don't know ... maybe those raw-textures are just scrap and (honestly) I don't want to sell a thing noone really wants :o( But as now I climb up to 3 Gigabyte of Textures I might just replace those 2 CD's into one DVD and sell it all for around 25 $ ?? So I'll add more textures and some new sections (with water for example or just 'ways') - but ... should I really spend half a day in making this all image-database ready ?? Hmmm - I really don't know. So I'm asking here if anyone really would buy such a DVD - please be honest, it won't help me if you now would say great and in real you think - why the heck he is doing such an useless thing ... Thank you for helping me ... Schlabber BTW: The love and passion set is uploaded and will be available soon - this means 60 combined poses for V3-M2 and 60 similar combined poses for V3-M3 (it is a hybrid pose-set) The price ? - uh-oh ... ... ... ... are 10 $ to much ?? (lol)

The textures are great. I'd be more likely to buy them if they were combined to make Cyclorama textures. The backgrounds and groundplanes combined would make great textures for it, and would really add value.

I never saw these before but they look great and I would like to see them someplace ..

Dizzie ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 2:54 PM

they look great but I need seamless textures. So they aren't any use to me.

Schlabber ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 3:01 PM

Dizzie: seamless textures ?? Hey - that's really a matter of 15 minutes for one image :o) There are tools for such things - the target of this textures was (and is) to gibe texture-makers a start - you are allowed (for example) to make a seamless texture out of some of them and then to sell them

I am getting a 404 error BUT, if all combined I would be interested too!

If they are already in CD form, why would you redo them?

Schlabber ( ) posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 8:31 PM

ellemat: I'll end up with around 4 GByte of textures - so I need to burn 6 CD's then - it's a simple matter of cost and time. 6 CDs - each 40 Cent = 2,40 Euro 1 DVD - each 2 Euro = 2 Euro Sending 6 CD's to USA = 16 Euro Sending 1 DVD to USA = 6 Euro And it is easier to burn one DVD instead 6 CD's

Thank you for the explanation. I was a little confused.

Egon,
I respect your work - you put a LOT of time and energy into it! I've bought two of your CDs over the years and will continue to buy. I will admit to getting a bit "confused" as to what is/was available at the various "versions" of your websites (for free), what you made available (for free) over at 3DC, what you're selling...
Count me in for a DVD - I like buying collections of things (especially at discount) to store away for that day in the future when I need these resources...

I wish I had known about th eclouds set months ago. How much is that? Are you selling that here? I know MY cloud package has sold diddly... The 2nd set is less interesting to me now that I have my digital camera...

Schlabber ( ) posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 6:13 AM

Gorodin: It is available over at 3DCommune. Due to the percentages I simply can't sell it here for such a price like at 3DCommune (I explained the package-thing above) I think the bundle-price together with the collection-CD is the best value - then you get 3 CD's for around 50$ (well - the collection-CD with the 5500 poses is the most expensive) - but anyway, it would still be cheaper if you have a paypal-account and want to buy it directly through me. In that case - just write me a mail.

Schlabber - I am very interested in the textures and didn't even know they were available. I'll write you an email. thanks

Schlabber ( ) posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 6:24 PM

Heavy Ray: Yes, it's hard to find out what is for free and what is for sale - mostly I packed all the freestuff too on the CD - for the last one (Collection) it was around half free poses and around half new ones - but I think it's still a great deal to pay 35$ for approx. 2750 poses - or not ;o) ?? Ron - will wait for your mail Schlabber
