Dale B: All the backgrounds I use in animations are made using Vue. I'm in the process of putting together a tutorial showing the process I use in Vue to pull-off the cell shade look. Interesting enough, I was poking around E-on's site, reading up on the scripting capabilities of Vue Pro and found that the example shader script they showcase is a cel-shader. It's not referred to as a cel-shader though. I believe they call it 'black outline on objects' or something like that. The example looked crude, but had potential and with the right tweaks...

Saxon: I believe when Dale B mentions Odango Atama it's a referrence to the Sailor Moon series. The translation is 'Dumpling Head'. They would call Usagi this to upset her, because the things on top of her head look like dumplings. I'm pretty sure the DiC series is also a Sailor Moon reference. Although in the DiC translation they call her 'meatball head' instead of dumpling head.
