Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Those of you that have purchased my V3 clothing will be aware of the large number of matching morphs that I include in each piece. I started off by using the Taylor but quickly found that results were disappointing. It worked fine if trying to put morphs into a catsuit but anything a little bit loose in my opinion failed. Adding morphs to a full skirt was totally out of the question. I ended up using Poser magnets, Poser 5 cloth room, or an external modeling program.
Technically the program works. If the body morph moves Vicki's chesticles a gravity defying six inches forwards then the Taylor will do its best to accommodate. A bikini would probably be OK but the program has no way of correctly simulating the effect on a loose blouse. I have tried adjusting the field of influence but have not discovered any setting that cures the problem. If someone can come up with a way round this then I will be more than grateful, till then its back to the magnets.
I have found that it works great I just got done transfering the morphs from a number of figures to mike 2 to make what I call ultra mike. Uh bodybuilder mike, massive mike, mega mike, and boris. I was experimenting on making a super bodybuilder for mike 2. Then as a thought... I took all the morphs from the ultra mike character I made, and transfered them to mike 3 sr1 that had all morphs installed. It worked like a charm. The morphs needed a little tweeking here, and there to look right being that mike 3 has a different mesh than mike 2, but all, and all I am pleased with what it can do. I'm sitting at the library at the moment, and I don't have a render of the ultra mike character, and the redone mike 3 character. I'll put up a couple pics later when I get home. I was up to 2:30 last night playing with the redone mike 3. (I need a life LOL)
My experience is that Tailor works very well at making V2 clothes fit V3. However, I have not been entirely successful at making V3 clothes fit morphed V3 bodies. I never knew you could transfer morphs between characters. Do you load in the target character as the dress? Still the problem remains of fitting clothes to your new morphed char.
The Tailor does fine with certain kinds of clothing. Especially if the morph in question enlarges rather than contracts the figures. So for instance. BreastSize6 will work fine but BreastSize1 not so good. Heavy fine but Young not quite as well. As Phil says, loose stuff doesn't do so well, and especially clothes with straps and such: the straps get chopped up sometimes rather than maintaining a smooth form. But nevertheless - it has many uses - still worth the money for sure. I've added about 600 (!!) morphs to the Vicki2 catsuit and all of them worked fine. :] Fish
Tailor, how I love thee, let me count the ways.... ;) I just bought Tailor last week and run it on Virtual PC in my Mac. I could not get the M2 to M3 tutorial to work. I get the error, "Influence volumes not found! No moprhs generated." :( So I switched to try something simple, and perhaps as I learn how to use the program, I will figure out how to convert M2 clothes for M3? Anyhoo, the good news is I wish I had bought Tailor sooner! So many things that have been bugging me since I got M2 I fixed in less than 5 minutues, never to bother me again! HAPPINESS!!!! What I'm talking about is M2's default body shape is too "stocky" for my tastes. I have morphed M2 into a lean toned guy, but none of his clothes work. I would spend hours trying to get the clothes to fit right. It was headache. I never knew clothes were actaully posable until Tailor moprhed M2's clothes to fit him right! happiness! Tailor is VERY easy to use too. I thought it would be harder. It's not. Most clothes slimmed down into useable forms, but not all. For instance, The Egyptians's armbands slimmed down perfectly, but the broadcollar was a distorted mess! M2's T-shirt, bodysuit, pants, and Egyptians skirt all had severe lumpy hills and valleys in the groin area. I don't know why, something to do with that pesky geometry switching? (M3's detable part is so much better for clothes!) So I was a Tailoring fool this weekend, Tailoring everything in sight! I even tried having M2 "wear" M3, and vise versa, but the results are not pretty. lol! I suspect inorder to get those nice body morph transfers like Nightfir has above, is you have to use M2 with M3M2 as "the dress" and you have to transfer up to bulky morphs. Slim morphs to Slim a default figure does not work well. And headmorphs? Forget about it. I have several other ideas to try though, so maybe I can transfer body morphs and head morphs using M2 with M3M2. I was using M2 with M3. bB
Here's what I want to do with the Tailor: A lot of the M3/V3 clothing does not have body morphs to match those of M3/V3. I'm particularly interested in creating clothing morphs for heavier guys/women. So....for example....I want to take the BAM pants and create a "heavy" morph to fit a fat guy. How easy is that to do?

Before I make a leap of faith and lay out almost $30 for it, I wanted to get the opinions of those who use the Tailor. Does it work as stated? Is it really as "easy" as it sounds? Does it work with V3 and M3 and most important.....does it work in Poser 5!! :) Please keep in mind....I don't model anything. I just purchase a lot and do renders. But the absence of morphs in clothing being made for the unimesh models (stocky, heavy, muscular, skinny, etc.), prompts me to consider this as an option. I have a feeling that if it were as easy as it sounds, a lot more merchants would be taking advantage of it and creating clothing for M3 that included the body morphs! What's your experience?
