I guess it will come down to which is more profitable.... are there more sales on Renderosity than other sites? If so, do the additional sales make up for the MP increased share? If not, is there a value to having some items on Renderosity for the purposes of introducing items and then having others available on other sites to change shopping habits? Or is the profit in advertising other sites on Renderosity to pull customers over to other sites, and is that working over time? And do people stay on the other sites to shop there permenantly or do they shop out of interest rather than loyalty to one community over another? I don't know. I shop fairly evenly between Renderosity, Daz, RuntimeDNA, and 3D Commune, and meander off onto sites like Vista Internet, IW3D, PhilC's, Sams3D, etc. where interesting items are carried that no one else seems to carry. Love my subscription sites (PoserWorld and, yes, PoserStyle still). There are, of course, sites I don't purchase from for reasons not related to products which have no relevance here (never, say never...I won't say I will never buy there but the odds are remote at this moment). I'm no fool...I'll buy from the individual merchant if it is convenient for me to do so, but I do feel an obligation (no one has to share it) to support the communities in which I participate. Maybe that's just me. I doubt if my experience in shopping reflects any trends of buying habits. Survival will end up being which site can sustain itself over time. I bet we see a lot of changes in the next year or two. Change is the only certainty.
