It's the Hindu New Year! well. t'mrow..but everything started from yesterday. Lots of sweets, firecrackers and well.. India has a happy feeling! Have a happy Diwali. May the year give you the best that the Universe has to offer... Fame like J Lo, muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger, brains like Stephen Hawking, wealth like Bill Gates, and wit like the makers of Bryce! ;) :) ;)

Umm it isn't as much a new year as it's mostly a new Financial year for traditional business accounting. The Indian (Hindu) year starts generally around Mid March, in Spring, which also coincides with harvets. However, different regions have different dates for the year to start. But yes we generally do have a blast! Its a festival of festivity and friendship! Its a celebration of lights...as a symbol of enlightment and to chase away darkness, be it ignorance or fear! Its a celebration with crackers and fireworks as an exultation of the human spirit! So in that spirit, to all my friends here in renderosity I do wish a very Happy Diwali! I've posted an artwork I had created long back as a Diwali greeting. Inside is depicted Ganesh, the elephant headed goad who denotes prosperity and harmony!

I'll certainly be watching a few fireworks go off. (I'm not Hindu, but some of my friends are) So Happy Diwali all.

Ah yes, Diwali, that time of year when the local Asian population decide to keep everyone else awake buy having firework displays that go on into the small hours, which is why I`m sitting in front of my computer now at 2am rather than getting me beauty sleep.
