"I don't think there has been even ONE time where DAZ did not try to help out once they became aware of a problem." Let me help. :-) Because of the degree of my frustration with a recent customer service issue, and because I felt that other DAZ customers should be aware of their options, I posted a rather lengthy complaint to their forums with the subject line "Not cool!" this past week. I did my best to state my case politely while making clear that I wasn't happy with what had happened, and why. (I won't reiterate the whole thing here. It'd be overkill...the thread is still at DAZ.) Several members and one forum administrator very kindly reassurred me that I wasn't being a jerk, and made some suggestions. I'm going to take them up on that tomorrow. Interestingly, some of the top brass at DAZ did appear to bend over backwards to placate ChaosOutlaw, but in spite of my soliciting suggestions from DAZ staff, nobody bothered to respond either in the forum or in private communication. I find it odd that my relatively reserved style of complaint led to no response at all from actual DAZ staff. Now to be fair, I haven't contacted them privately yet...I hadn't decided on what to do until after closing hours on Friday. Knowing how cooperative they usually are, I'm optimistic about coming to a resolution and a happy ending to my little beef. My point in bringing this up again is that in spite of trying to be polite and show good faith, I got no response, whereas more heated complaints got private and public responses. What's that all about? The fact that many people are eager to say they've never had a problem doesn't mean that some of us haven't had problems. I've been one of the DAZ-praisers many times in this forum, both about products and services. It's true that the happy purchases and customer service experiences don't get public praise most of the time, and that when someone does complain publicly, it seems like more of a slam than it probably really is. I'd like to think that in the end, cooler heads prevail (which is not meant as anything against anyone in this thread.)
