It's more like 2 peoples seperated by a huge amount of water...... Yeah they tax our TVs! If you don't have a license they fine you 1000....And most of the tax is spent on the bloody BBC! The most arrogant, condescending, selfish, self-important TV station you could imagine and then some! The BBC prides itself on the fact that it doesn't sell advertising time like those tv stations living in the real world. But they're damn quick to advertise their own products, mags, videos, concerts...all of which make a profit which is not used to lower license costs. The guys who go round in little vans looking for license-dodgers are worse than the Gestapo. They raided one woman's home, tore it apart looking for her tv. When they didn't find it they said to her that she must have hidden it well! And no, she didn't have a tv! BTW, this is one of my favourite gripes!
