Well, I've never done that, so I can't say for sure. I know you can make all sorts of gradients with it. If I find my book, I think it's called Secrets of KAI Power tools or something like that, I see what it says. I think KPT3 was once one of THE plug-ins to have. There are lots of other things you can do too, like page curls, kalediscopes, textures, etc.
