Subject: Poser MacOS X: Fonts vanishing in Poser5 GUI

Hi --

my problem with Poser5: Suddenly the names of drawers, windows and dials disappeared. It seems to be a problem with the fonts on my System (MacOS 10.2.6) although I didn't change anything.
Anybody knows which font is used in the GUI of Poser or perhaps knows a workaround for this? Thanks - Holger

Yes, it's a known issue - Helvetica.dfont and Times.dfont. OS X differs from Mac OS (like 8 or 9) in that, if there's the slightest problem with a font, the app will not work properly and may even crash on opening. That's why they were forced to add the Font Manager to Panther, but unfortunately it created new problems that usually have to be solved by third-party apps (e.g. FontAgent Pro).
