By that logic - you can also create your own figures with Lightwave and Poser, so why bother with M3? The whole point of M3 and V3 are the morphs. If you just wanted to make your own, why not just use M1, or even the default Poser figures? I would at least get the M3 head morphs. The head morphs are what allow you to make facial expressions - smiling, blinking, frowning, etc. And most if not all of the people who are very skilled with 3d apps and Photoshop nevertheless bought the head and body morph packs, and the texture pack. For the texture - I think you need to start with a base for that, too. Try Cin's Nicodemus texture at Poserpros. It's only $2.49, and if you look at it, you'll see how brow and lash trans maps work. Alternately, you could buy one of the merchant kits available in the MP here, but they are more expensive. For morphs, a lot of people like Z-Brush, but the interface takes some getting used to. I like Extreme Morph 3D myself. Their website: http://innuendosoftware.com/xm3d.htm has a demo version and tutorials that walk you through how to make head and body morphs for Poser.
