the whole "look" is much dependent on how skillful you are using the applications. However, the render engine and light attributes make a very very big difference. IMO, Vue excels at its ability to have realistic outdoor lighting. It is a landscape program. Those trees I rendered were just imported and rendered, using Vue "ultra" mode....but only 1 point light was added to make the objects more visible. NO bump channel was used in the material editor...still looks mighty fine. I've tried doing some portrait work in Vue, but IMO setting the lights and camera is a bit more difficult than Poser...not sure if I've seen any portraits in Vue exhibited here...
