ernyoka - pastries are food - eclares and cream puffs are 2 examples of pastries. As a generalization, if it's a desert with flour in it but isn't a cake or pie, it's a pastry. Pasties are nipple coverings worn by "exotic" dancers. I wouldn't be surprised if they made edible pasties somewhere, but it's not what you normally serve to guests. (Or at least I don't have the kinds of guests who'd want edible pasties!) ;-)
