"have a distinctive crescent shape" - maybe Crescent objects on anti-cannibalistic grounds? If I can put up with the French and their croissants, I can put up with other crescent shaped items. ;-) With all the confusion on pastry vs. pastie, I figured it was easier to generalize Cornish pasties as being inside rolls instead of pastry crust. I love the crust for Cornish pasties, but the filling is heavy and bland. Black pepper is not a spice - it's a lame attempt to hide bland taste. Bleech! (And I do eat chiles on occasion, and chili every once in a while, but I've never had chillis.) ;-) A spiced apple filling does sound intriguing. I may have to try that one sometime. Cheers!
