Subject: Is Poser mostly a hobby or is it often used in commercial work?

Well gagnonrich,almost all of the Poser images you see are the result of 3d party content,....Vicky,Michael,photographic textures,props,etc.,etc. Except for a small amount of postwork,people use Poser as a stand alone program to create their images. As you can see from the ad for the original Poser,the program was developed as an AID for computer artist. Reading your post makes me believe you have a strong interest in natural media,,,so why not follow that?(!). Use Poser just as a start to your digital drawing,and build on that. While Photoshop is the best for composits,corrections,layer blends,etc..I think you should explore what Corels Painter(and a Wacom tablet) has to offer someone who works in natural media. Try Posers sketch renderits really, really a great feature, that few people ever use.take it into PS or Painter, and work it over with the pencil and eraser tools..paint over that (well you get the idea).
