I think at times as a parent we tend to get a little over protective of our kids. I used to but then I listened to myself and thought I sound just like my parents did to me. I did the exact opposite of what I was told as a kid. My daughter is allowed a relative amount of freedom and will continue to do so. I will not dictate her life for her I can not justify most of the decisions I wanted to make because I have done those in things and a lot worse. I think you should encourage them with all their artistic flair. I would not panic too much about what is said in this forum because compared to other forums this is very clean, which is quite surprising considering.
