Don't know if it's the geocites thing, but the hosting is a little slow. Along with the idea of adding to the front page, I'd also change the links page so that it opens a new window when I follow a link (add the statement target=_blank to the anchor HTML) Just a personal preference, it's what I've done with the links on my site.
