THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Idea: Freedom Tower

Hi guys, I was thinking, what if I made a scene file with the the contour of a floor in a tower. Everyone who wants to participate can make his own floor and render it, using settings we should agree on. I could then stack these floors in photoshop. And make a site where the tower is built. Someone with a supercomputer (maybe at school?) could even render a flyby of the tower. We could even make induvidual towers for each software package. And make a virtual city. Once I secure some good webspace I would love to host this idea. Or maybe I'm not the first one to think of this? I know there's already a great photoshop project like this. Lost the URL though.. Let me know what ya think..

Really nice idea! There is a similar Pixelart project - see attached link. :) I'd love to do something similar with all of you.

I know html, but vrml? If you know vrml, you can make the site. I will make the scene file, and if it takes of I would like to keep credit for starting this project. Ofcource you will be posted in the very helpful people part of the site. But I guess I should make the scene file first and then let you build a site around the general floorplan.

Yes this is what I was talking about in my first post. http://www.mrwong.de/myhouse/ Great project and what a huge and limitless virtual building. Might contribute my own floor once/if my pixelating skills develop. I feel there's a lot more potential in a 3D project. Especially if we can get some raw computing power. Hmm maybe on my university.. I'll check it out.

It asked me to reset. I'll do that later today. I almost never reset with all these downloads and multi-tasking programs. VRML, I think I once used it when it was in a very early stage. 3D web interface right? Our beautiful broadband future :)
