Ambient shadows, meaning...? Shadows cast from other objects, or Self-shadows, or just light in general? I've never really had a problem with shadow-casting...(grins) Perhaps a quick screen shot? If you know where all those options are in the Material Lab, you have probably tried all the things I could think of offhand...
