Yeah, that's right on the Dick book. The first Barbie was a Lulu Doll sold in Germany aquired by the fonder of the current Barbie empire... it had blue eye shadow and ruby lips and was pretty lavascious looking and was sold at tabaco shops to men as a bachelor party type gag gift or salascious-type mantle piece sculpture or something... there was a whole market of men's cermic nude scultures now sold as colectables catalogued as "nudies" but Lulu was plastic or composit and jointed I believe. When Barbie hit the market Americans were horrified by the idea of dolls of grown women (and with breasts!) being sold to children.
