That can happen while IK chains are still on. Turn of Inverse Kinematics for the legs. Then try psong without IK. If you prefer to use IK. Put the figure into more of a squat pose before turning IK back on.

The shin and the thigh must have a slight bend in the correct direction for this to work properly. Try (with IK ON) lowering the hip slightly ... then adjust the "bend", "side-side", and "twist" for a natural position. Do this for both the thigh and the shin on both legs. Now, when IK is ON and you raise or lower the hip, the legs should behave properly. cheers, dr geep ;=]

Hi, I was wondering if there was some procedure in bending a character's knees properly. I'm trying to get a character to squat and when I try to pose it, the knees keep bending the wrong way. I try just bringing the hips down on the Y axis, but the knees buckle and go the wrong way. Then, I try to bring the feet up toward the hips, but the same thing happens. I would think that if I twisted the thighs outward a little, then the knees would bend the right way when the hips come down, but they didn't. Any ideas? Thanks for any help, john...
