Subject: Anyone else have problem with M3 creatures

iamonk ( ) posted Sun, 21 December 2003 at 10:27 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 10:09 AM

Inject the Troll morph, spin the dial, and only certain bodyparts change. The right leg works, not the left. The left foot works, the abdomen too, but not the hip.
I opened the .pz2 and the deltas seem to have a couple of blank lines amongst them. Deleting the lines did nothing.
I checked DAZ, but no update. I reinstalled, but the same thing.
In the .pz2, some of the bodyparts have the same number for INDEXES and #of DELTAS, I haven't ever noticed these two numbers being equal in other files.
I'm new to tearing these things apart.
Anyone else able to use the Troll morphs?
Having a HMMMM moment

Did you get the M3 updates from DAZ ? -Michael 3 Base Update 10-08-03 DAZ Updates for M3 SR1.01 Installer automatically deletes old Resource file, Stretch Channels Improved. -Michael 3 Body Morph Update 9-30-03 DAZ Updates for M3 Body Morphs

Have you installed the latest service releases for the Mike 3 Base and Body Morph Pak? DAZ had to regroup certain body parts, which plays havoc with morphs if everything isn't up-to-date.

I got the updates, but this morph came with the creature addon, so I don't see how these would fix it. I tried snipping the .pz2 apart so it would only inject the hip. Even by itself, the dial appeared, but no change in the hip when the dial is spun. If someone does have it working for them, then it would be nice to know the difference in the files? Not much else could be wrong, if it were missing some deltas, or they were unordered, something should at least happen, right? I checked the's and they are all there, and the fact that the dial appears means that it is a functional file, just an issue with the deltas, right?

LD, all of the other files seem to work, the TROLL is the only one I seem to have an issue with. If it were the grouping, others would be affected. Like I said above all is OK except the Hip, Lbuttock, Lthigh, Lshin. Very strange.

Here's what I get...

I injected the Troll FBM, restored the figure, then set the Troll dial to about 2 to show what I'm talking about.

Hey there, I am at my folks place for the holidays but if you have the updates to the morphs and M3 there could be a problem with the files since they changed the mesh after I did the morphs. I will check it out as soon as I get back home but that won't be until next Saturday. I am terribly sorry for the trouble.

So all I need is an install of M3 prior to the updates? I can do that, thanks!

Are you using Poser 4 under Windows? If so try deleting :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilMan_M3.rsr.

I installed pre-SR1 M3 to my P4 directory and the morphs work fine. For what I need, this works fine.

Good to hear it worked to do the preupdate version ... I will see about getting a new morph to DAZ though.
