They're probably trying to avoid another "Face on Mars"-type controversy. Seeing is not always believing, but it is for some people, even though indistinct photos can be misinterpreted. :^) After looking at the photos you've collected, Vile, you do make a good case for interpreting the photo as being evidence of water, if these photos are accurate and haven't been altered (and I have no reason to doubt you, Vile).
