It is not the case that a story in pictures has to be told in consecutive slots in the gallery. I say this from experience because I have posted numerous such narrative sequences, the longest being 125 pictures long. All of them posted at a rate of one per day. If people like your story they will watch for it. Your type of art has not been silenced, unless you have some additional criteria that requires the pictures to be in adjacent slots, and I can't envisage what that might be.
