Hi xenobug, what happens is during the "activation" process the operating system switches to a secure input mode and disables the Shift and Option keys and the spacebar. (Disabling these keys prevents other network connections from accessing the keyboard input stream and compromising security.)

Normally, the operating system re-enables the modifier keys after the authentication process is complete. But if you are compromising the "authentication process" in any way, you are disabling the keystroke shortcuts. If you are not and they still don't work, you may want to contact Adobe directly, they can probably walk you through a solution...
