You can usually save a significant amount of money if you give up on a few hundreds of MHz. Keep in mind that a dual system will render almost twice as fast as a single proc system. Go for a lot of fast RAM. 1GB at least. GeForce 4 based board should be good. I don't think it's worth going for the latest and greatest video boards. It won't change the way you work all that much (IMO). Hope that helps.
