Vue doesn't allow you to multitask, at least on most systems. For example, I have 1G Athlon, 1G ddram, W2K Pro, runs like a champ, but when I am using Vue, I can't do any other tasks. As I recall from other threads here, Vue is a bit of a processor hog. So it doesn't surprise me if you can't do multi-tasking. With this in mind, ensure your Opengl is disabled, and don't try to do any other tasks while Vue is open, especially if it is rendering a scene. Put stuff in layers, group them, and that should help keep you moving along. 256MB seems low to me for Vue 4 Pro, I believe the recommendations are for 1G of memory, although it ran ok for me on 512M. The system requirements are on page 21 of the Vue Pro manual. so you might think about upgrading your memory too. Hope this helps.
