Since old Father Winter is just now getting here he may even have a newer, more advanced design in the works. Ya, that snow and ice can be wicked. I remember a few years back when making a winter skydive and we hit an 'ice sheet' at about 9,000feet. When we got down we all had tiny blood driplettes on our faces. Looked like a slight case of road rash!
