Subject: SP3's Hands and Fingers will not scale.

Is anyone else having this problem? Steph 3's hands and fingers are broken and disjointed when I scale them to 90%. I have reported this to DAZ.

It looks like some parts have non-zero displacement. Maybe if all parts were zeroed, scaling would displace them all the same (zero).

I don't believe that is the problem, as it occurs in "Zero Pose" as well as "SP3 Default Pose." Unless DAZ has built-in non-zero displacement.

Sorry, should have said "offset", not displacement. It's a joint problem IIRC (see attached link). Either they have to give you a cr2 with joints repaired, or you have to zero them all with the joint editor.

The same problem occurs with scaling the hands of all of the Poser figures. I don't know the cause, but I suspect it may be Poser's inability to handle very small or overlapping deformation regions. The "standard" solution is to re-scale the entire body by the required amount and then to scale up all of the (major) body parts to compensate. Bill

Scaling the hands and fingers individually works well for V3. SP3's hands appear to be exactly the same as V3's and are based on the same mesh. Save the follwing as hands, pose, or camera (hd2, pz2 or cm2) and give it a try.
