Has a been a week since someone asked this question? Wow, how time flies. Here are (once again) the usual answers (that can be found by hitting the rarely used "Search Forum" link):
- Upgrade to Win 2000 or XP. Get rid of Windows 98.
- You can try CL's solution of adjusting virtual memory, rebooting, defragging the hard drive, rebooting, adjusting hard drive partition, rebooting, patching your operation system, rebooting. After you've done all this, you'll forget what it is you were trying to render!
- Give up on P4: it won't render past certain resolutions, no matter how powerful your computer. Open the image in P5, use the P4 Renderer or Firefly/ Draft and it will render with no errors at all. P.S. I recently upgraded to a Sony VAIO, 1G RAM, 160M Hard Drive, Win XP Pro, 3.2G Pentium 4 Hyper-Threading processor. And you know what? Yep, when I try to render a large image in Poser 4, I get this error message. And the solution? Render it in Poser 5. Why should I need to adjust any system setting to get ONE program to work? Lighwave works fine. Vue works fine. Photoshop works fine. Office works fine. IE works fine. Poser 4 doesn't work fine. What does that tell you? It tells me that complaining about the errors and bugs in Poser 4 is a moot point. CL is on SP4 for Poser 5 and is in development for Poser 6. DAZ has released Studio to compete with P5 or P6. So, this is a lost cause: nobody is going to fix the bugs in Poser 4.
