I am pleased that I can finally name the ancient discovers of orthogonality for my youngest son. I made a great circle calculator for him and explained how the latitudes and longitudes worked when he was going to import some produce from Chili. Looking it up I nearly fell into the vacumm as I found it was the invention of the chronograph that finally squared the ear. Yet squareness goes back so far as to be an obvious method of travelling on an earth that like topsy just growed as it found itself on a round planet. It has been in my lifetime that cycles per second has become hertz and this amazing relation of waves has finally found a master.
