I received the solution from another board. I will post it here in case anyone else runs into the same problem. Since the poses themselves work, simply load the pose onto a Character and make sure the window is square (400x400 or 800x800) and then save it as a new pose with the same name. This will replace the old pose but it's still the same pose and it will automatically create the icon.
