The problem with allocated memory is that you're assigning that space of memory for that program, and that program alone, this might end up hurting the performance of your Mac. What should be done memory should be set to the recommended amount, and poser should be assigned Virtual Memory, (which is taken from your hardrive) according to the size of your hardrive, this will greatly improve your Mac performance and Poser's performance and render time as well. On a PC this problem of "Allocated Memory" is almost non existent, because a PC automatically assigns, memory automatically to a program.
