I think you should also be able to set the parent to a prop, so that if you parent the conformer and base figure to the same prop scaling the prop will scale both together, but it may be necessary to set all the rotations of the prop and the base figures BODY and hip to zero before doing this, otherwise the orientation of the scaling may not be as desired.
