Thanks, everyone. I spent as much of the day as possible with my injured foot elevated (and well wrapped in an Ace bandage). The cats kept me company and I took a lot of painkillers. More than likely, the woman lives or works in this neighborhood, and I'll end up running into her again. I hope I don't ever run across her under the same circumstances. Meanwhile, I'm going to try to be more careful stepping off curbs. Once was bad luck, but twice?? Must be getting careless in my old age.
