First off I would like to thank the folks at Rosity for hearing the voice of it's users and changing the TOS to be much more plain than they were. I really do appreciate as I'm sure many others do as well. It will make it much easier for all of us to realize when we are crossing the line that is now painted bright yellow instead of grey. Secondly I would like to suggest a change in all of us, myself included. Let's all re-read what we just typed and stop and think...would I say that to the person's face...or would I word it differently so as to be more diplomatic and less combative. Try and hear what you typed, hear it as people reading it would. I think this would go a long way towards the end of the bickering and trolling. Third, let's stop dredging up stuff that happpened days, or even weeks ago. Once something is done let's just drop it and move on. All it does is keep the hurt feelings alive and serves no real purpose to anyone. Fourth, let's all remember to say thank you when someone helps us or does something nice for us. This includes the Mods and Coords here. Fifth, let's start the day out fresh...make it a GREAT poser day!

Here, here, Melory! I was thinking the same thing myself, and didn't know quite how to put it. Things can get so heated and ugly sometimes, and we tend to forget that there are real people on the other end of the keyboard. I wish we could go back to the "old days" when people just helped each other out. 8-(

Phantast ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 9:50 AM

Mmm ... it's very easy to type things you would never say. It's as if one were addressing the electronics inside the computer monitor rather than other real people sitting at their computers.

daverj ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 11:09 AM

It's also very easy to misunderstand what somebody is saying when you are just reading words and can't hear there tone of voice. It's easy to think something is an attack against you when in reality it was said light heartedly. Or if somebody uses one word instead of another you might take it the wrong way from what they were trying to say. We need to all lighten up and stop taking comments so personally. And stop jumping on people for some comment that they made that we might not be fully understanding why they said it.

Well, mail is impersonal. It can be like barking at someone on the phone. You don't have to look into his/her eyes. And once "send" is pressed, its toooo laaateeee.(or post, or post replay) Good proposal , to re-read, re-think, put yourself at the other end.... and remind yourself that a couple 1.000 others might read it too... and like I, a lot of us pay te come here and read this stuff. An open group like this one is a heavens gift, but one has te respect its nature. Lets all be constructive and reach out a helping hand. Tony, Belgium-Europe. PS : I pay US 47 dollars a month to come online, and I like the information, the interaction, the idea's, the help, the sugestions... the far - distance- "friends".

i think i understand what you mean. i think also that this is a good idea. still i can also understand those, who find it hard to accept that doing what they think is "the same" is not regarded "the same" by the people who actually run this place and who are responsible for its contents. like i had to learn, that it is allowed to say "voldemort", but not "www.voldemort.com". well, that's OK with me, since i will keep my tongue (errrr, keyboard) for the sake of all the good i get out of this place. (and of course the good i hope to be able to give also). let "respect" be our motto.

The single best thing that Steve Cooper taught me when I worked at Curious Labs was "Never post angry". There is a tremendous amount of wisdom in those three words. I can't and won't ever try to tell people what to do. This is just what I do. It has helped tremendously. There have been times that I've REALLY had to rethink the message I was about to post. It has helped a lot. Thanks Steve! All the best, Joe

Me to Joe, every day prob 3x's a day I type a response re-read it then just hit the back button. A lot I find get's out by just typing it out.

And I meant what I said in the other thread -- people should purchase Melory's products in the marketplace. I bought the Sorority Sisters Mega Pack. An excellent deal, and well worth the money. Peace.

I think we should bring back the "Mods Pick of the Week" :)

Which, Melory - and I know that your art was featured in the "weeks picks" more than once - How do I know?? Cause I was the one who use to do the picking wink.gif

Hugs to you Mel,
Thanks for starting the thread.

I had the pleasure of betatesting Abby for V3, also an excellent product. Melory was very meticulous in reposing some poses that weren't to her liking, the package came out real nice. Since I didn't purchase it I had no option to leave feedback, so here is mine. ;)

iamonk ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 3:53 PM

Oh man am I confused...

New TOS?

Voldemort?

Emoticons?

My computer isn't schizophrenic, there are actual people writing these things?

I also must admit, I have NO idea what Pakled is talking about?

How many others are formerly known as ...?

WOW!

What day is it again?

I need to lie down, I think.

KarenJ ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 4:21 PM

deemarie, I would LOVE to see the picks of the week come back in, and I'm sure others would too!

Tom Riddle- The anagram (with a few other words) of Lord Voldemort's name in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Humperdink Humperdink! - The Princess Bride Miracle Max was fired by Prince Humperdink, so he doesn't want to hear the word, but he cheeses off the missus, and she goes around going 'Humperdink! Humperdink!'.. while he goes "I'm not listening!"..;)
He who must not be named- Lord Voldemort. Actually I just clicked on the link above the posting to see what would happen, and it started to load...something, but I got a 504 error before it could finish..;)*Emoticons- those silly sideways faces..8|, ;)-*mah favrut
-Zorg, the 5th Element
..means 'I'm teasing,or I'm not too serious'..;), to denote emotion, because you can't see how the other person's reacting to what you say..;)

Thanks for the nice feedback guys :) Ben...I still need to send you the final for Abby!!! I forgot!!! When was I in the Mod's Pick of the Week? I was checking those all the time and don't remember that :( Bummer for me hehe I would also like to suggest that we start having 30 hour days...24 just isn't enough for me.

numanoid ( ) posted Fri, 16 January 2004 at 12:01 AM

And can we have 8 days a week. The 8th day will be called Mirday. The day one which we can achieve miracles and actually get things to work the way we want them too.

XENOPHONZ ( ) posted Fri, 16 January 2004 at 12:24 AM

Currently, we have 5 days for a work-week, followed by a 2-day weekend. Well, I recommend that we reverse that: a 2-day work-week, followed by a 5-day weekend.

Just think -- one can put in the standard 40 hours in two day's time.

But then you'd need to sleep for 3 days to recover, and still have a 2 day weekend. 8~)

Did I just drop in on Disney.com or what? It's okay to disagree folks. You don't have to think alike. Disagreement is a hell of a lot more healthier than the sudden sedated B.S. going on here.

*****Did I just drop in on Disney.com or what?

OK, RAMNIMUS - I'll be happy to unsheath the sword again.

Perhaps, just perhaps, all of these posters actually DO agree with one another. Difficult to follow, I know. But it's possible.

Let's see if I can follow the implied logic here (this is NOT my reasoning, just that which is implied by nameless others):

Unless if someone starts a fight, then the entire issue (whatever the issue is) has no defined credibility. It is now "unhealthy" for people to agree with one another upon some point.

Odd. Extremely odd, indeed.

On the one hand, many people complain about the "negative tone" of the forums here at RR. But, on the other hand, when someone attempts to say or to do the slighest positive thing in the midst of the storm -- well, these individuals should then be accused of a unique form of childishness.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Yes, I utterly disagree with some of my own friends on this particular point.

Sedated? A temporary profound slumber can give one a welcome change from incessant war.

However, we now have our all-important difference thrown into this otherwise peaceful thread. As a result, perhaps the thread now enjoys a veneer of credibility. Much like cheap fake-grained formica glued on top of rosewood.

I hope that everyone is happy.
