To add to this, the probability is that your intrusion attempts are COMPLETELY unrelated to anyone targeting you specifically... as such changing your IP wont make any difference. Many folks just continually scan hundreds and thousands of IP addresses looking for open machines, changing your IP address won't keep them from "finding" you.
