heyas; dunno. here's a tip though: do NOT use a jpg for the trans map. they have a tendancy to make the blacks un-black, and mess up the flat areas of colour with those lossy thingies. use a 256-colour greyscale gif. (or tif... shoot, now i cant remember... vue doesn't do gifs, does it?) hmmm... it DOES look like a refraction problem. i can see the top darkening looks like the underside of the water wave things...
