Sometimes when you get stuck on something, it's good to come back to it the next day, especially if you feel you're forcing your creativity. As for a focus of the image, that's a tough one. I find that's the hardest part of an image, finding what to focus on. Your pic looks good so far though. How about a few mountians in the distance? Or maybe make those trees tower over the castle.
