Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Been messing with this since the day after Steph3 came out. Posted here and at DAZ. It seems that one needs both the mannikin and a JP Pose specifically for Step3 and nobody has made one (that I know of) as of yet. So I gave up until that happens. I don't have the know how. A Few threads in the DAZ Member Forums talk about this.

there is a guide written by FyreSpiryt to create a JP pose in DAZ arcana. (the link goes there) worked with me concernng the CR2's: i messed around to create one of my own, but found it very easy to simply use some of poserworld's CR2 files as template. (thanks again steve!) just getting V3 so i cannot comment on the manneken probs so far.can you sort of briefly outline the steps you are following to do this. I have been converting some of my store items over to SP3 and have not really had any problems. I did have a little at the start, when I was trying to use the original mesh and make morphs to scale it down. What I found I had to do is export the morphed clothing to make a new object. Export with Include existing groups in polygon group check. Uncheck other boxes. Sometimes okay to leave weld on, but can depend. Load and zeroed SP3 in scene, make sure IK is off and figure is zeroed. Import new object (uncheck all boxes). If this lines up okay on figure, you can stop. If not, use dials to line up fit on figure (this is where I was getting my biggest problem in getting the clothing to conform right when posed). Once it is lined up right, delete SP3 and export object again as outlined about. Place object in geometry folder where you want it, and point your cr2 to it. You can either strip the SP3 cr2 of all morphs in Morphmanager and use it, or you can try the one that came with the clothing and use a JP pose file to change the jp settings. Sometimes this is better because the cr2 for the clothing may have a special setup and using a pose file that sets the centers will work better.
Okay, what I said is probably as clear as mud. Just ask if you need me to clear something up.
P.S. The attached text is a pose file to set centers on jps settings to match SP3, just change the .txt to .pz2 and place it in your pose folder. Generally this will do the trick on existing clothing. If it does not, strip out the morphs from another similar SP3 clothing item or SP3 blank and use it as your cr2. Point the 2 figureResFile lines to the new object.

Hello,
I need a little help. I'm in the process of trying to convert some of V3 clothes to S3 and have run into a dead end. I'm using Taylor 1.5 and a homemade mannikin figure and everything works fine until I get to the joint parameters. I used a pose file that sets V3 parameters as a guide and plugged S3's values in. Now it looks fine in the standard pose but gets messed up in any other. The left/right collar and feet is where it is the worst. Now I've tried about a dozen different variations and the result is the same.
Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks,
hdrider
