Hey, great response. I agree with Eowyn...I thought the American remake was much scarier than the Japanese originals. It's just hard for me to get scared watching something really low-budget, and the subtitles kind of detract from the mystery. The image IS patterned more after Sadako than Samara, though...I thought the scene in Ringu 0: Birthday when Sadako comes for the two women in the house was quite scary.
